Nourishing Women Podcast

Aug 9, 2022

Can you engage in popular wellness trends, like intermittent fasting, if you have a history or are currently struggling with disordered eating?

Intermittent fasting is all the rage these days, and is touted as a way to improve blood sugar levels, cognitive function, life longevity, reduce oxidative stress and inflammation and so many more proposed benefits.

And if you have been here since the beginning of the show, this title is an episode we did in the first year of the show, all the way back in 2017. I actually went back and listened to the episode, and a lot of what we shared is pretty similar to how I feel now, but I did feel like it was due time to re-do this episode with more up to date  information.

Because what is different is how STRONGLY I feel against intermittent fasting, in comparison to our first episode with this title, where we saw some of the benefits. Now, I just see it as an excuse for people to engage in disordered behaviors. Listen to today’s episode to learn more!

*In the beginning of the episode I accidentally say ‘intuitive eating’ instead of ‘intermittent fasting’.
